Willie Jack qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1983 and after working in community dentistry for two years with Lothian Health Board at Sighthill in Edinburgh he moved his family to mid-Wales in 1985 where he established his first practice.
He was a clinical assistant in orthodontics in Shrewsbury from 1993-1995, obtaining his Diploma in General Practice at the Royal College of Surgeons in London in 1996 & then his Membership at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1997. He was appointed a postgraduate dental tutor in Wales from 1997-1999, then in Shrewsbury from 2001-2003 and he represented colleagues on the Denplan Advisory Board from 1999-2001. In 2000 his practice joined the Dencare group & Willie became Director of Implants from 2001 to 2004 with responsibility for over 80 dentists and 50 practices.
In 2005 he set-up a new referral & specialist practice in Berriew, mid Wales subsequently joined by an endodontist, and has since added the Cerec System and an on-site prosthetic lab to the practice. In 2008 the practice joined the JD Hull Group. In 2009 he obtained his Masters degree in Oral Implantology & Biomaterials at the University of Sheffield.
With initial training at the Branemark Clinic in Goteborg, Sweden & the Eastman Dental Institute in London, Willie began his implant career with Branemark System in 1992 and he now has a wide experience of different implant systems. He has placed, restored & maintained Neoss, Straumann, Astra, 3i & Branemark systems. Since 2008 Willie only places & restores Euroteknika implants, for whom he is the UK’s Clinical Director through his company d2dIMPLANTS. He practices in mid Wales, Shropshire & Edinburgh and limits his practice to implants, periodontics and advanced restorative & cosmetic dentistry. He has placed & restored in excess of 3,000 implants over 18 years with a current success rate of over 97%.
